Sammarye Lewis started with
film photography several years
ago, and has evolved as a digital
photography artist. Since 2000,
she used Nikon digital cameras
and accessories. Well-known as
a cycling and event photographer,
she is returning to her roots
to again add wedding photography
to her list of professional services.
Sammarye’s recent Corporate
client events includes Barclays
Global Investors Sponsor
dinner during the 2005 Barclays
Global Investors Grand Prix
San Francisco, and the 2005
Wachovia Bank Cycling Series
Sponsor events in Philadelphia
and in Manayunk. The Barclays
Global Investors event featured
Robin Williams, Ronnie Lott
and numerous SF public officials,
as well as George Hincapie
and the Discovery Channel Cycling
Team.
Sammarye’s photography
assignments include sponsor
events for the US Postal Service,
including their sponsor event
at the T-Mobile International
San Francisco Grand Prix 2004,
which featured Lance Armstrong
and his team. In addition,
Sammarye provided sponsor event
photography at the Interbike
International Bicycle Retailers
Convention in Las Vegas, featuring
US and International cycling
celebrities.
Sammarye has been the event photographer for
Threshold Sports, LLC, an event management company
based in Pennsylvania. She provided several hundred
images for sponsor branding and placement for the
2005 Wachovia Cycling Series in Philadelphia, Trenton
and Lancaster. She also covered the ceremonial ringing
of the Justice Bell at the Celebration of Women in
Washington Memorial Chapel, Valley Forge National
Historical Park, in June 2005.
As a photojournalist and author, Sammarye’s
photos are featured in the book, Tour de France for
Dummies, which she co-authored. In addition to numerous
black and white images, the book contains an eight-page
color insert of her Tour de France photos. Sammarye
has traveled to the Tour de France for several years,
photographing every stage of the Tour, with special
access to Lance Armstrong and his team.
Sammarye’s images have periodically been
displayed on the Lance Armstrong website, including
her photo of George Hincapie at the Tour de Georgia,
which is used as a featured wallpaper download.
In addition, her images have been in cycling magazines
and other on-line cycling sites.
